Los Angeles: The Press of the Pegacycle Lady, 1976. First edition. Portfolio of 12 original black and white photographs by Jim Cornfield. Taken in an improvised studio during the 1975 celebration of Mardi Gras in New Orleans, the photos depict "quite ordinary" people "transformed into preening incarnations of their own fantasies.". One of an announced edition of 100, of which only 25 were actually completed. Printed on Agfa Portriga paper, archivally washed, and mounted on 13.75 x 11 inches all rag mat board, with each print signed by Cornfield. Letterpress printed folio with the photographer's introduction. Publisher's folding fitted box covered with purple moire silk. Some wear at tips in silk on case, else fine. Item #24459
