Cloth spines frayed, but the hinges are sound, a very good copy, with usual foxing. Scarce in unrestored original condition, as poorly made as are most American books of the period. One of the important early ethnographic accounts of Hawaii, with detailed descriptions of life and customs. Volume 1 two also tells of Tahiti, Hawaii, Macao and Rio de Janeiro.
