Light rubbing to extremities, small closed tear repaired on back cover, else a near-fine copy, the text block tight and square. ENTIRELY UNCUT AND UNOPENED, and with the blue of the covers fresh. Copy 359 of 750 on linen paper. Chemise and half blue goatskin slipcase. This copy was originally subscribed for by John Quinn, the prominent Irish-American lawyer and art patron, who had unsuccessfully defended The Little Review's publication of Ulysses in court against obscenity charges. Quinn supported Joyce by buying his manuscripts, including Ulysses as it was being written. In all, Quinn purchased 14 copies of the firat edition. Item #32932
